Engine Arrives

We purchased a new AeroSportPower IO-360 B1B engine.  It was shipped on schedule via Roadway and just barely fit into the van.

It weighs 200+ lbs but two of us were able to pull it from the Van and get it down to the garage floor.

The engine was nicely packed and sturdily attached to the palette.  Accessories (oil filler neck and dipstick, spark plugs, manuals, air flow controller and hardware) were in separate boxes.

Underneath the engine about a pint of oil had collected.  We were worried that there was something wrong but a quick phone call to Aerosport assured us that it was just the preservative oil dripping off of the engine.

Until you see one brand new (and see the hole in your checking account), you don't really notice how beautiful they are (the fire engine red color helps the appearance a bit too).

This is a IO-360 B1B engine which means it is the low compression 180hp model with fuel injection.  This is a close-up of the fuel distributor (spider) and purge valve.

The accessory case.  It came as dual magneto setup but we soon replace the right mag (far left in this picture) with an electronic ignition system from Lightspeed.
