We are going
to try mounting the oil cooler on the firewall to avoid any baffle cracking
concerns. Using a piece of 3 inch aluminum tubing, we fabricated a
butterfly valve and welded it to a plate that attached to a shroud on the top of
the oil cooler.
The fully
assembled cooler/valve/control system. The small piece of angle attached
to the shroud serves as the control cable hard point as well as a stop.
