Wheel pants and
fairings not on yet but you can see just about all of the paint details in this
shot. The paint has about 45 flight minutes on it right now so it won't
look much better than this - ever
There are
three stripes on the plane that start at the nose and widen out at the tail.
The red swoops over to cover the turtle-deck. Grey is just straight back,
and blue in the middle.
To help hide the
cowl hinge, the blue stripe straddles it (and the hinges themselves are painted
blue.
Vans sells
a custom wing walk cutout which we just had to purchase.
In order to
help make the wings look less stubby (fairly difficult in an RV3,4,6,8), the
leading edge is tapered red.

All wing colors come to a point at the leading edge.
Horizontal
stabilizer has blue on the leading edge (vs red on the wings). Tips (and
faired in wingtips) are red.
Wheel pants
have a similar look (red, blue, grey striped).
